Recently, I have been looking more into Google Classroom, after I learned about it in a zoom presentation! Google Classroom is a great resource for educators and students to use, interactively! If you have never seen Google Classroom, it is a service that allows educators to create assignments, share files, see who's working on what, create with students, and even automatically grade assignments. Google Classroom is a true classroom, just paperless! The educator begins with their Google Classroom by creating a class, or multiple classes! Once you have your class created, your students can join the class through a class code. You can customize your classroom by giving it a theme and having background photos! In this Google Classroom, there is a Google calendar that can house all of the due dates for the assignments that are made, and you can create a weekly agenda! In Google Classroom there is a stream page where you can post updates, reminders and anything else on google classroom, and the students can either post on the stream or comment! There are so many ways you can organize and customize your Google Classroom. I think this is such a great way to use technology for learning. Students can work in groups or by themselves on things like reading articles, taking quizzes, working on a research paper or working on notes. Many students today love to get the opportunity to use technology in and out of the classroom. I have seen where some teachers post documents from the lesson, and assign homework on Google Classroom! Overall its a great resource that everyone should try out... and its free! There is so much I have learned about Google Classroom, and I know I will be using it in my classroom one day! I have attached a super helpful youtube video on how to use and organize a Google Classroom. This video has made me even more interested with all the cool tips and tricks provided. Below are photos of examples of Google Classroom and how this service looks!
